My Enchanting Day as a Princess ♡

Soft sunlight peaks through the delicate, rosy curtains as the world begins to awake. Long lashes fluttering, I slowly open my eyes, awakening from the land of dreams.

Pushing back the light shabby chic blankets, I gracefully stretch my hands over my head before stepping out of bed for the day. Tip toeing over to the door, I place my feathery slipper on my feet and grab my vintage satin robe.

I’ve been longing for an enchanting day where I could frolic around my own little princess dream land and feel at peace; to let all my stressed melt away like a Lush Bath bomb. To truly start treating myself like the delicate princess I want to be and have a fancy pamper day. I’m extremely delighted to be making today that magical day!

img_1039-1The first thing I’m doing on this beautiful winter morning is taking care of my skin. The chilly winter wind can be harsh on skin, so to help it I like to gently exfoliate my face whenever I need it. I then follow up with my new favorite face cleanser, Lancôme’s Crème-Mousse Confort Comforting Cleansing Creamy-Foam with Rose Extract. It’s gentle on delicate skin and smells like romantic roses in the spring. It’s the perfect thing to add to any princess’s morning routine!

After finishing up in the bathroom, I skip off to my fancy closet/makeup room where I plan to spend the day frolicking around and doing glamorous things. Personally this area of the house is my favorite place to spend time being cozy and escaping the rest of the world. It’s my own special fairytale hideaway filled with all my favorite things. I’ve made the area so girly and sweet that it’s impossible to not feel like a princess when entering.

As I enter my own personal dream land, I choose a candle to light. Wanting a soft & dainty scent, I go with my Tea & Lemon candle. It makes the entire room smell like I’m at a vintage tea party. Before lighting it, I sprinkle just a bit of fairy dust over it for an added magical touch. img_2444-1

Turning on some soft music, I take a seat in front of my vanity. Audrey Hepburn’s dreamy voice is singing Moon River in the background as I begin to do my makeup for the day. I’ve currently been loving the Anastasia Beverly Hills shadow in Pink Champagne. It’s such a gorgeous and light shade; perfect for a princess! It also happens to share the same name as my favorite bubbly drink and song.

With my makeup completed, I shake out my long red velvet hair from its ponytail. Reaching for my favorite leave in conditioner, I begin to gently brush out any tangles before adding like curls to my hair. Pulling a few pieces of hair back, I secure them with delicate pearl bobby pins. To finish off my hair, I add my tiara.

“Life’s more enchanting wearing a tiara.” ♡

img_9046Reaching for my tulle Victoria’s Secret champagne and rose gold robe, I put it on and feel even more princess like. The robe is so light and airy, it just makes me feel so fancy. The sleeves are ruffled out and there’s rose gold stars sprinkled all over it. It’s such a whimsical design.

Wanting to dress up today, I pirouette over to where the closet side of the room is. I run my fingers over the delicate fabrics; feeling the dainty lace and the soft faux furs until my hands brush over what I’m looking for, the unmistakable feeling of gorgeous tulle.

I simply love dressing up in tulle, especially on days like today. It’s just so lavish and elegant that it can make anyone feel like a princess the second they slip into it.img_1872

Picking out a sweater to go with my pink tulle skirt, I immediately feel more myself after putting on the outfit. The beautiful tulle skirt makes me feel ethereal and free as I twirl around. It makes me feel dreamy and angelic, like I’m finally myself. It makes me want to continue to twirl around and dance, which is exactly what I do. Putting on my most favorite song Pink Champagne by Ariana Grande, I feel happy and free as I dance and twirl away.

With the smell of my tea and lemon candle still entangling itself in the room, I’m inspired to sip tea out of a dainty teacup. Reaching for my Lady Grey tea bags, I cut up some fresh lemons and start to brew some tea. The smell of tea and lemon is now wafting throughout the whole house; the smell soft and warm.

When the tea is ready, I pour it into my Royal Albert Rose Confetti teapot. I absolutely adore Royal Albert’s vintage china as it’s so girly and enchanting. It’s the perfect china for a fancy tea party!

img_2433While the tea cools, I take out my matching Rose Confetti teacup and saucer; the dainty floral print of this collection makes me feel like a princess at tea time. Pouring myself a steaming cup of tea, I take a seat on the couch in my makeup room, resting against the rosy pillows. With a fluffy blush pink blanket gingerly wrapped around my shoulders, I prepare to have a princessy movie marathon with movies like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Roman Holiday, Marie Antoinette, and of course one of my all time favorites, The Aristocats. d4ac5033-8d95-4ea6-b109-53328c7a6bb5As the end of the day draws near and the stars are starting to sprinkle across the night sky, I welcome the night with a fancy bath.

As the warm bath water fills the tub and the lavender bubbles increase, I gently wipe the makeup from my face. With my dreamy rose scented cleanser, my face is left bare and smooth with only my long, dark lashes left. With my face clean, I apply my sparkling champagne and strawberries face mask. img_2493

Putting on my fluffy blush pink robe and tying up my silky waist length hair, I leave my tiara on as I go choose a bath bomb. Deciding on the snow fairy bath bomb from Lush, I drop it in the bubbly water. It starts melting away, allowing the angelic, sweet smell of snow fairy to flutter around the bathroom like a beautiful butterfly.

To make this lavish princess bath even dreamier, I crush up a bit of Lush’s sunny side bubble bar; adding the magical touch of fairy dust.

As my blush robe shimmies to the floor, I step into the beautiful pink, sparkling water. The warmth engulfs my body as I sink lower beneath the bubbles and glitter. Sighing with contentment, I feel at ease.

Before the end of my delightful bath, I softly cover my body in Lush’s Snow Fairy Body Conditioner, letting it soak into my skin before rinsing it off.

Drying off with the fluffiest towel, I apply Victoria’s Secret Heavenly (my absolute favorite scent from there) lotion on my body before slipping into darling After Hours Satin Pajamas.

Cozy, relaxed, and at peace, I glide back into my shabby chic princess bed. Scream Queens plays quietly in the background as I drift off back to dream land after a sublime day. ♡

♡♡♡

I hope this enchanting blog inspires all of you out there to take time for yourselves and to treat yourselves like the beautiful princesses you are ♡

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Review & Swatches

Hello my Vintage Darlings ♡

As you may already know from my last Too Faced review, this is absolutely one of my top favorite makeup brands! Their packaging is always lovely, glitter is their favorite, and they’re cruelty free!

When I first heard about the release of the Chocolate Gold palette, I just knew that I had to have it. Being that I’m someone who loves any type of shimmery or glittery eyeshadow, this palette seemed it would be perfect for me. It’s a mix of metallic and matte shadows with most of them being metallic. After seeing the first few photos of it that Too Faced posted, I simply fell in love with the shades and was already thinking about all the gorgeous looks I could create!

Since purchasing it two weeks ago, I’ve been using it each time I’ve done my makeup so far and it has really impressed me. My current love for this palette has inspired me to do this review so others out there can decide to give it a try as well!

First off, the packaging of this palette is gorgeous! It looks like a regular Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette was dipped in gold! It will really add a fancy touch to your makeup collection.

There’s not much else to say about the packaging, so I’m going to get right into the swatches and how I feel about the shadows!

The colors in the Chocolate Gold palette are honestly so amazing! They’re truly the best metallics I’ve ever used. First off, they’re surprisingly super pigmented. When I first got this palette, I originally swatched it on my arm without any primer. All I did was one swipe and the color payoff was crazy! Obviously I was even more amazed when I did the swatches using a primer.

Another plus for these shades is how smoothly they go on. They don’t feel chalky or chunky, they go on smooth as butter and blend amazingly well!

The only problem I came across was with two shades: Classy & Sassy and Decadent. I found that Classy & Sassy didn’t glide on as well as the other metallics and it took a few swipes to build up the color. However I found that using a glitter glue primer for this shadow solved that issue and really makes the shade pop!

As for Decadent, this shade is just a no all around for me. When swatching it I noticed not only was it very patchy, but that it also felt extremely gritty when I was putting it on. Luckily for me I don’t really ever use matte blacks, so it’s not a problem that this color didn’t work out.

Other than that, these shades truly apply nicely and blend well. My personal favorite shades are Love & Cocoa, Rich Girl, and Rollin in Dough, which is my new favorite base shade!

If I were to rate this palette, I’d give it a 9 out of 10 because I’m someone who loves a good metallic shadow.

Let me know in the comments if you guys decide to give this palette a try or if you already have!

Why I’m Treating Myself like the Princess I Deserve to Be ♡

IMG_1294

Hello my Vintage Darlings ♡

This post is going to get a little personal as it will discuss something that has meaning to me and hint at why it means so much to me.

For the longest time, I have looked down upon myself. Whether that be in terms of looks, personality, or how I style myself and hold myself, I just never seemed to build myself up. I let what others say or even what I think they may say about me stop me from loving myself.

Anytime I would think of myself in a certain positive light, I would immediately stop that thought and instead replace it with a self deprecating comment. Why did I do this? Well simply because I thought if someone heard me (or read if I was posting to Twitter or Polyvore) and how I described myself, they would think I was full of myself. I thought that they would think that I thought I was better than anyone and that they would start saying awful things because I’m not all that great.

You see sometimes when I think about myself or describing what I’m doing (I like to make little ‘day in the life’ posts on Polyvore — something I hope to do here too) I like to do so in a “fancy, whimsical” way. Almost in a “princessing” way because I am after all a very girly person who loves all things fancy, dainty, and Disney. tumblr_olsopksbSH1tf6696o2_500

Unfortunately this sometimes seems to make people angry for they start saying mean things to me. They tell me that I’m not all that, I’m full of myself, I think I’m better than everyone and it’s not cute, they say I’m a spoiled show off or that I’m not cute, and I’m just a try hard. Simply because of my style of writing or the way that I’m trying to hold myself up with practicing self love and confidence that day.

So lately whenever I start to think that way, I beat them to it and automatically put myself down instead. I’ll be feeling good about something I did or how I look that day and have one of those fancy, princess thoughts, but I stop it and replace it with a put down like “I’m just kidding I hate myself. I’m like actual garbage.” Or I’ll say something like, “It was just a joke. I’m seriously not cute or pretty at all. So far from the pretty Disney Princess type. Haha.”

Honestly I’ve said even worse about myself to stop the positive thoughts. All because I’m worried about what others might say and what they have actually said about me.

The more I think about how I treat myself because of others opinions, the more I come to the realization that, that’s just not fair to myself. Not only am I letting it cause me to not be my 100% true self, but I’m letting it stop me from self love.

Nobody should have to go through life not loving themselves.

What many people don’t know about me is that I’ve recently gone through something traumatic that’s affected me so negatively that it has changed who I used to be. Since that happened, I’ve been even more down on myself than usual and I haven’t been doing the fancy, little things that used to help me build up some of that self love and confidence. I’ve been even harder on myself with the self deprecating after trying to be positive. It doesn’t help that the comments from people putting me down have increased since this incident.

It’s not just the incident that caused me to feel this way, though it has majorly increased it, but another thing I’m never really open about is my BDD. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s body dysmorphic disorder. That already causes it to be hard for me to love myself.

The whole of 2017 was nothing but me putting myself down to beat other people to it.

tumblr_orxavqJCkb1ul3b44o1_500It’s time for that to change in 2018. I’m going to treat myself like the princess I deserve to be and if that bothers people, (the way that I hold myself, write about what I’m doing, dress, treat myself, etc) then that says more about them than it ever will about me. I’m going to do what makes me happy and what makes me, me. It may take a while for me to get there, but I will eventually.

I deserve to be happy, I deserve to love myself, and I deserve to finally feel confident.

All of you Loves out there reading this that want to feel like a Princess, you deserve it too. Don’t ever forget that.

You all deserve self love and confidence. ♡

Bath & Body Works Semi Annual Sale Haul

IMG_1192

Hello my Vintage Darlings!

It’s that time of the year again where stores have their semi annual sale. Being addicted to Bath & Body Works, I obviously had to check out their SAS deals. I actually was on the lookout for a few very specific items.

A few weeks before the SAS began, people in the Bath & Body Works Instagram community started posting about them bringing back their Sweet Shop candle collection from 2014, which included the scent Lavender Marshmallow. That was a super popular scent that many people wanted to see come back. In fact it actually came back in 2015 as the repackaged Paris Lavender Macaron. I had the repackaged version and loved it so much that I’ve been hoping to get my hands on another ever since.

Luckily for me I got the original at the SAS along with a few other Sweet Shop candles! I ended up making my purchase when the candles went on sale for $10 each during the sale!

IMG_9315

In addition to the well sought after Lavender Marshmallow candle, I also bought three other candles from the Sweet Shop collection.

IMG_9402Another must have for me from this collection was the Raspberry Peach Macaron candle; I’m a sucker for anything macaron themed. I’m so happy I purchased this one because the smell is such a lovely, soft bakery scent!

The next candle I grabbed was Pink Bubble Gum. I wasn’t too sure about this one, but the packaging and color of the candle was cute and fit my Instagram theme (yes I’m that kind of extra), so I got it. I’m glad I bought it though because it smells amazing!

The last Sweet Shop candle I grabbed from the SAS was Frosted Cupcake. It’s just your average cupcake scented candle, but I love candles that smell like cake and I just love cupcakes! IMG_0180

The only other things I picked up from the SAS besides these candles were a Fresh Sparkling Snow lotion and body wash because that happens to be one of my top favorite scents from Bath & Body Works!

I may not have gone crazy during the SAS this time, but I did get the items I wanted the most for an amazing price!

Let me know in the comments if you guys picked up anything from Bath & Body Works’ sale!

Current Beauty Wishlist

Hello Vintage Darlings!

** Sorry for disappearing already! I’ve just been going through a situation, which I’m not sure if I will be sharing. I just wanted to post this since it’s been in my drafts for awhile now! **

Now on to the post, Darlings!

I’m someone who has a huge addiction to makeup and I’m sure some of you loves out there can relate. I love buying up new makeup and I’m always excited to try it out for the first time.

Lately, I’ve been trying to rebuild my makeup collection due to losing a decent amount of it in the process of moving, including my beloved MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show eyeshadow palette. I’ve already added many new pieces to my growing collection, but I wanted to share just a few of my current wants that are on my Beauty wishlist with you!

1. Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes – As I said in my previous post, I’m obsessed with Too Faced. I constantly just want to buy everything they come out with and the Just Peachy palette is no different. This palette is filled with gorgeous peachy, pink, and maroon shades which are all shades that I love to use almost daily. I also own and absolutely love the Sweet Peach palette, so I really want to grab this one to add to that!

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture – I’ve recently just got my first Anastasia palette, which was the Modern Renaissance palette, and I fell in love with this brand. The Modern Renaissance palette is crazy pigmented! I saw Subculture in person when I was getting the other palette and the colors were stunning! I really hope to pick this one up soon.

3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Moon Child – The same day I went to go get Modern Renaissance, I also got to see this beauty in person. I absolutely love highlight products and this one just blew me away with the shades and pigmentation. Plus I love that it’s cool toned as that is what I prefer in a highlight.

4. Stila Written in the Stars Glitter Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Set – I’ve been hearing so much about these glitter glow liquid eyeshadows for awhile now and after seeing them in stores, I just have to try them out. This set is a mini holiday set, which I thought would be perfect for me! That way I can give three different shades a try without having to buy the full sized versions yet!

5. Too Faced Glitter POP! Peel-Off Eyeliner – Too Faced is bringing out yet another new product for the holiday season, glitter liners! I used to love adding glitter liner to my holiday looks and these look too pretty! The two colors I most want to try are ‘Yes Way Rosé’ and ‘Glitter Ghost’.
I’m so excited to eventually buy and try these products on my wishlist!

Leave a comment down below and tell me what some of the beauty items currently on your wishlist are!

Kisses,

Blair ♡
