lovely august goals ☽ for the chaotic academic

The cozy scent of cinnamon pumpkin cupcake drifts into the air mixing with the musky scent of desert sage; making the room feel as though autumn is closer than it is. Taylor Swift’s evermore plays softly in the background creating a comforting vibe.

August, the perfect transitional month between the final weeks of summer and the start of the autumn season; the perfect time to set new goals in time to prepare for my most favorite time of year. There’s just something about this month that renews my creativity and motivation. Some people see spring time as a fresh rebirth, I see autumn as that time. With my new ideas and lust for learning, I’ve decided to set some simple goals to prepare for my favorite time!

☽ perfect my skincare routine – Something I will be working on this month is getting my skincare routine in order as to have my skin glowing during the upcoming chillier months. Sometimes I end up slacking a little on my skincare, but I want to put my self care at the top of my to do list as a way of finally treating myself better.

☽ focus on my writing at least twice a week – With my sudden burts of creativity and motivation, I want to set aside time to get all my ideas down and blog more. To achieve this I will be taking at least two days every week to sit at my desk and simply let the ideas flow!

☽ outfit plan for the perfect autumn outfits – One thing I’ve always loved is putting together lovely outfits and with autumn being my most favorite season, I really want to come up with the perfect outfits. I also sometimes find myself falling back into depressive days where I’m constantly wearing what I call my “struggle outfits” and I just feel if I start planning cute fall outfits that it’ll help me take small steps into doing nice things for myself to feel better. Sometimes simply making the outside look good helps you feel a little better on the inside about yourself!

☽ find a new subject to study – One thing I’ve learned about myself through starting my healing process is that I truly do have a lust for learning new things. While I may no longer be in school, I still feel that need to learn something new even if it’s a random subject. Lately I’ve been very interested in learning all about chaos theory and I look forward to reading more about it this month!

☽ walk at least 20k steps a day – As someone who lives in a small town where I do a lot of walking daily, I’d really like to get my daily steps to 20k. This may seem like a big number to some people, but as someone who has to walk everywhere it’s super achievable! Plus it keeps me active and helps with my anxiety.

☽ go on more little adventures – I’d really love to go on little adventures around town this month; whether that be on a walk to the lake or exploring the old train station!

Let me know in the comments if you have any lovely goals for this month!
